WORKER JUSTICE

YWU is an organization led my its members, low-wage service sector workers and students.  This means the work we do- from organizing to policy advocacy to immigration justice- is work we do because the members have made it a priority.  Through their lived experience, our members know what needs low-wage workers have.  Through intensive training and a consensus-based discernment process, YWU members continue campaigns in three major areas:

1. Education  and Outreach to low-wage workers and students

2. Worker-led organizing and case management to positively transform working conditions and win back-pay for workers experiencing wage theft

3. Policy Advocacy that continues to push San Francisco to be a leader for worker rights in the United States.

If you would like to join a meeting, please visit every other Wednesday, at 5:30-7pm at the YWU office, 215 Golden Gate Ave.  If you are a low-wage worker and/or a student and would like to learn about how to become a member, give us a call at 415-621-4155 or come to a meeting ad check us out!
